3 Tips to Get Unstuck in Writing by John Seeley
Have you starred at the blank page long enough? Do you wonder why the words aren’t flowing? Would you like to know what to do to make it come out? Well here are a few tips that may help you to break free and begin writing again.
Sometime we freeze up because we want whatever we write to be “good.” This often blocks us completely. So start with writing anything. Editing is easier than creating. So write something, and go back later and see if you can make it better.
Another tip is to stop trying to write and go do something fun. Go outside. Connect with nature. Just play. Relax your mind and forget about writing. Sometimes you only need the pressure to be released to find your creative juices flowing again.
Finally try reading something by someone else. You will often be inspired by another writer. Find something by an author you like and see if you don’t find a spark to your writing mood.
